Growing up in a household where music played all day and night, it's no surprise that Charles became a musician. From a young age he was listening to an eclectic mix of funk, punk, reggae, disco, pop and soul and started writing his first songs at 11.

Charles is a prolific singer-songwriter and plays a number of instruments. He loves electronic music and mixes this with his Caribbean roots and love of soul, reggae and funk to produce an experimental take on black music, some of which he brings to The Fish Police sound.

As well as making his own album, The Man Who Likes Watching, he has contributed music to the soundtrack of Waheed Khan’s short film Orange People. Charles formed the Fish Police with Dean and Mat in 2005 and says his role is “to write songs extracted from Dean’s head and to fuse them with their musical influences.”

Outside of The Fish Police, Charles is working with legendary artist Grace Jones. As part of her live band, he has toured the world and will be doing more shows with her in Europe and America in the coming months.
